Closing Statements to Use After an Interview

Closing Statements to Use After an Interview

A Closing Statement to use after an interview, to be more specific at the end of an interview,  What this mean ?   Its really gives an interviewer a good impression about you and its a kind of value add to show them that how much you are really interested in that job.

What To Ask at the End of an Interview For quite a while I resisted the idea to write about this. I just thought its common sense.  But after hearing all the horrible advice given by some recruitment professionals, I thought I should just write a very quick post about this; let’s start with What Not to Dos.

Don’t say is there any reason why you should not hire me. This is something just very awkward. Why would you even say that? Please don’t. Remember this, it’s a competition.

 The best candidate wins. Even if all of the candidates deserve to get the job, one of them is a better fit than the others. So, the hiring partner like me will just choose the best candidate.

This doesn’t mean the other candidates aren’t worthy of the role.

Don’t say what the compensation level is.  It’s too soon.  You don’t want to leave an impression that money is your biggest priority. That may just be the case of course understandably.  But that doesn’t mean that it’s the kind of first impression you want to leave.

So, what to say then; well, you can always ask about the timelines;

    1. When do you expect to make a hiring decision?

    2. How long do you think this process will take?

    3. May I ask what the next’s steps are?

    4. Do you mind if I follow up with you?

These are all very legitimate questions.  And more, If you are interviewing with the hiring manager, then you can ask; What’s the biggest challenge you are facing at the moment that I may be able to help Or you can ask; Is there anything I can do even before I join. Any market research or analysis, please let me know I am fairly available.

This last one is really important.

Conclusion:

If you can convince the hiring manager to give you a task before you join, that’s a major opportunity for you to create reciprocity, gain extra points, and prove your expertise. If you can pull it off, you’ll double your chances right there.

I trust that you got some idea about the closing statements and what to say at the end of job interview.

I hope you benefited from this and please give me thumbs in comments section and subscribe to my blog if you haven’t already done so.

Thanks a lot for your time in reading!
